About Guess the Animal by Shape

Guess the Animal by Shape is a ten-silhouette observation quiz featuring a cat, dog, elephant, giraffe, shark, panda, rabbit, fox, horse, and deer. The round is about reading outline clues - ears, tail, trunk, fins, neck, antlers, and stance - rather than recognizing fur color or a photograph.

How to play

  • Study the black animal outline and identify its most distinctive structural clue.
  • Compare the four named animals and choose the one whose body shape best matches the silhouette.
  • After answering, read the field-note-style fact explaining a useful clue such as a trunk, dorsal fin, long ears, or antlers.
  • Complete all ten silhouettes to receive a result band based on the number correct.

Controls and rules

  • Tap or click one of the four text answer cards; the selected and correct answers are then shown.
  • Use Next question after the animal fact appears, or See result after the tenth silhouette.
  • There is no timer, sound requirement, drag gesture, or hidden-image interaction.
  • The answer names remain visible below the image, providing a text-based set of choices on phone, tablet, and desktop layouts.

Tips

  • Find one feature that the decoys cannot share: an elephant's trunk, a giraffe's neck, a shark's dorsal fin, or a deer's antlers.
  • For close canine shapes, compare the tail and ear profile; the fox outline is designed to read smaller and pointier than the dog choices.
  • Do not use apparent size as evidence. Each icon is scaled to fit the same quiz frame, so a rabbit can occupy as much screen space as a horse.
  • When the outline is broad and rounded, check the ears and limb posture before deciding between panda, bear-like, or koala-like options.

Scoring and objective

Every correct identification adds one point. Eight or more earns Silhouette Spotter, five to seven earns Shape Tracker, and lower scores receive Mystery Creature with the option to replay.

FAQ

Are the animal silhouettes drawn to scale?

No. Each silhouette is resized for a clear quiz card. Use proportions and distinctive anatomy, not its size relative to another question.

How many animals are in one round?

The round contains ten silhouettes and shows each once before the result screen.

Do I need sound to play the animal shape quiz?

No. The game is entirely visual and text based, with written answer feedback and an animal fact after each pick.

Can I change an animal answer after tapping?

No. The first selection locks that question, reveals the correct animal, and enables the next-question control.
