About Dot Glide

Dot Glide is Klivii's route-tracing survival puzzle. Every board hides one path for each active color; you must start at a glowing endpoint, visit that color's adjacent dots exactly once, and finish at its other endpoint without accumulating five strikes.

How to play

  • Press or touch a glowing endpoint, then keep sliding through neighboring dots of that same color.
  • Complete the entire color route at its opposite glowing endpoint. Finish every color on the board to advance automatically.
  • Clear six boards to finish a round. Later rounds add red and purple routes and expand the matrix from 5-by-5 up to 7-by-7.
  • The run ends on the fifth strike; your result records score, boards cleared, and the round reached.

Controls and rules

  • Drag with a finger, mouse, or pen from dot to dot. Lifting the pointer pauses the trace, and you can resume only from the newest lit dot.
  • Clear Route erases the current incomplete color without adding a strike. Restart Board clears every route on the current board.
  • Music and SFX controls are independent. Sound is feedback only; route status, misses, and instructions are also written on screen.
  • The game stores a checkpoint for the current round, board, score, and strikes, so a recent run can recover after a reload even though unfinished route lines reset.

Tips

  • Before touching the board, visually trace from one glowing endpoint to the other. The generated route never requires jumping between nonadjacent dots.
  • Finish one color before starting another. Switching away from a partial route causes a strike and resets the color you abandoned.
  • Use Clear Route as soon as you recognize a dead end; it is safer than testing an illegal jump.
  • Round two adds a red route, round four adds purple, rounds three through five use 6-by-6 boards, and round six onward uses 7-by-7 boards.
  • A board bonus grows with round, board number, and number of colors, so survival is more valuable than rushing an uncertain connection.

Scoring and objective

Starting a route and connecting each legal adjacent dot add points scaled by the current round. Completed colors and completed boards add larger bonuses. An illegal start, jump, repeat, or color switch subtracts 24 points, resets the affected incomplete route, and adds one strike; the score never drops below zero.

FAQ

What actions cause a Dot Glide strike?

Starting away from an endpoint, revisiting a dot, jumping over a nonadjacent dot, touching another color mid-route, continuing from the wrong end, or interacting with an already completed route can all cause a strike.

Why did my whole color route disappear?

A strike resets the incomplete route involved in the mistake. Routes for colors you already completed stay in place.

Does Dot Glide save my run?

It keeps a local checkpoint for up to 12 hours with the current board, round, score, strikes, and cleared-board count. The exact in-progress lines are not restored.

Can Dot Glide be played on a phone?

Yes. The board uses pointer tracking with generous dot hit areas, so the same trace gesture works with touch, mouse, or pen input.
